The Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to providing a diverse variety of leisure activities, recreational services, and enrichment programs to enhance the quality of life for Cooper City residents.

Mission Statement:
Provide the highest level of customer service through recreational and leisure opportunities for the residents through a variety of activities, programs and social experiences resulting in an enhancement of the quality of life for Cooper City residents.

Overview:
Cooper City’s Recreation Department is dedicated to keeping Cooper City Someplace Special. Our activities vary with a selection of programming for residents of all ages, including youth classes and activities, day camps, swimming lessons, adult trips, fitness classes and more!

Innovative services and programming can be found at our two multi-faceted facilities, the Community Center and Pool and Tennis Center. The Parks and Recreation Department also provides various facility rental opportunities to celebrate special occasions. To accomplish community-related objectives, the Department continues its involvement in the coordination of numerous special events throughout the year. Cooper City's Parks and Recreation Department is dedicated to providing a sense of place through social and cultural experiences for all to enjoy.

Stacie Weiss 2023

Parks and Recreation Director – Stacie Weiss, CPRP, AFO

Stacie comes to the City of Cooper City from the Town of Surfside, located in Miami-Dade County. She worked for the Town of Surfside as the Parks and Recreation Superintendent for fifteen years. During this time, Stacie worked to develop the Department by modernizing the Department to keep up with the trends in the Parks and Recreation industry.

Prior to Surfside, Stacie worked in other municipalities in their Parks and Recreation Departments and has over twenty years of experience in the Parks and Recreation industry.

Stacie graduated from Florida International University, College of Social Work and Public Affairs, receiving a Master of Public Administration Degree. While obtaining her Master’s Degree, Stacie worked to achieve a Certificate in Public Management in the College of Arts and Sciences. A two-time Graduate from Florida International University, Stacie received a Bachelor of Science in Parks and Recreation Management through the College of Education. Stacie is an active member of her Professional Association, Florida Recreation and Parks Association (FRPA). Through this organization, she holds two National Certifications. Stacie is a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) and an Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO).
